WLAN configuration
There are various ways to access WLAN at THWS.
THWS WLAN & eduroam
Click HERE for the instructions
Eduroam is a free, globally available Wi-Fi service for members of the research and teaching communities. Once set up automatically, the Wi-Fi is configured for both eduroam and the THWS Wi-Fi. This saves you from having to set up Wi-Fi access manually.
@BayernWLAN

Access to the @BayernWLAN network is available to everyone. No prior registration or ticket is required.
Please note that "@BayernWLAN" is an external network operated by Vodafone. The network is not part of the internal THWS infrastructure; internal resources cannot be accessed through it.
Certificate verification
To verify the certificate chain, we provide the following Wi-Fi certificates (click and install)
- GEANT OV RSA CA 4 (Root Certificate CA) (Download .crt / .pem)
- USERTrust RSA Certification Authority (Download .crt / .pem)
- AAA Certificate Services (Download .crt / .pem)
Please ensure that your Wi-Fi client is configured in a way that does not disable certificate verification (even though it is easier). Certificate verification ensures that your Wi-Fi client is actually connecting to the new campus Wi-Fi network (and not to a 'fake' Wi-Fi network set up by someone trying to 'phish' your login details and password).
For more information, please see the documentation page of DFN.
